Mercy in Motion:

Bridging the Gap Between Detox and Recovery

At Newport Mercy Center, we put mercy into motion. We walk with individuals through the most vulnerable moments of their recovery journey, ensuring they have the transportation, support, and dignity needed to reach safety, stability, and hope.

The Real Problem

Detox Is Not the Finish Line. It’s the Most Dangerous Gap.

Across Georgia, people leave detox ready to change their lives but without:

  • Transportation to housing or treatment

  • Money for a ride, medication, or basic needs

  • A safe place to go

The result is predictable and preventable: relapse, overdose, and avoidable hospital readmissions—often within hours of discharge.

This gap costs lives.

Our Role

We Are the Bridge Between Detox and Stability.

Newport Mercy Center, Inc. is the nonprofit arm of Newport Integrated Behavioral Healthcare, Inc. We fund and deliver non-clinical, non-reimbursable services that insurance and Medicaid do not cover but recovery depends on.

We ensure individuals safely transition from detox to:

  • Transitional or sober housing

  • Outpatient treatment and therapy

  • Medical and psychiatric care

  • Recovery support and community stability

No delays. No missed appointments. No discharge to nowhere.

Why it Works

Transportation Changes Outcomes.

When individuals reach their next level of care:

  • Relapse rates decrease

  • Treatment retention increases

  • Hospital readmissions decline

  • Long-term recovery becomes possible

Transportation is not a convenience. It is an intervention.
